You say childhood I think bright pink Barbie Jeep. I can't pinpoint exactly why this memory sticks out so far above the rest, but it most definitely does. For me back then, the Barbie Jeep was "big time." The video clip below isn't me, but it might as well be. I distinctly remember the party my mom threw for me at my Uncle Johnny's on my fifth birthday. I don't honestly remember who all was there other than my best friend at the time, Annelise Ohlson. I recall her being there so vividly because she was my cruising partner, in my brand new Barbie jeep. I go back to the sheer excitement I felt when my mom brought it out. Everything else ceased to exist.

It's interesting that I never played with Barbies as a little girl. I never cared for a Barbie house, Barbie clothes, or anything in Matel's Barbie collection, yet I wanted the real, battery powered Barbie Jeep. This is because Matel used Barbie to capitalize on the aspects of life little girls enjoy, and the types of women little girls aspire to be. It's genius. I wanted to drive no matter who made the miniature automobile. These days, it's no longer the Barbie Jeep Wrangler. Now, it's the Barbie Cadillac.

Barbie has become the Everthing Girl.

 As I wanted to drive, I had other aspiration at the age of five. Barbie was these aspirations. You can look at Mystory in the same fashion Matel organized and produced so many types of Barbies; I have various aspects, influences, characteristics, and qualities that "produce" by life.
